Family Halloween Events in Indianapolis (Map + Calendar)

Beth Wood said:  Cottage Home Neighborhood is hosting their neighborhood's annual fall block party! The outdoor party is a family-friendly event featuring live entertainment on two different stages, food and beverages, an animal show, a large kids area with kid-friendly entertainment and events, and much more! Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to the block party!

Beth Wood said:  Every Halloween, Greenwood trick or treaters don their costumes for a spooktacular celebration. Monster Mash highlights include trick or treating, music, food, and much more. There will be trick or treating by the event lawn and a hayride.

6-8:30pm

Beth Wood said:  At the Jimmy Nash Pumpkin Patch, the first 150 children can pick a pumpkin from the patch. All ages can take a chance at the candy corn guessing game and there will be pumpkin face painting, Halloween Bingo and more.

5:30-6:30pm

Beth Wood said:  This family friendly (no blood or gore) half-hour excursion is great for ghosts and goblins of all ages. As the train travels through the dark countryside, passengers will be haunted by characters from their ghost story.

Beth Wood said:  Come dressed in your costume and share this festive weekend with the animals at The Farm at Prophetstown. Find each station on The Farm and receive a treat. Several of the animals will be in costume!

In addition to your meal, the event includes fab“BOO”lous Halloween entertainment, games, crafts, activities, and a tour of BOOville during AES Indiana’s Lights-on Hours (for children who scare easily)! All children leave with a special goody bag.

Beth Wood said:  The Historic Irvington Halloween Street Fair includes a vampire run, a costume parade, a street fair, music and more.

Beth Wood said:  The 99.5 Smiley Morning Show is hosting their annual Smiley Pumpkin Drop at the Shops at Perry Crossing in Plainfield! Each year, the morning show hosts a live morning broadcast while they drop a GIANT pumpkin from a crane. Bring the kids for candy, games, prize giveaways, and fun!

Beth Wood said:  Celebrate an early Halloween at Clay Terrace's Annual Boo 'n Brew Fall Festival! Enjoy face painting, balloon artists, Silly Safari Animal Shows, a pumpkin patch, horse-drawn hayrides & so much more! Parents and those guests over 21 are welcome to join in on the "BREW" of Boo 'n Brew, offering a large beer garden, with four local breweries.

Beth Wood said:  Be sure to dress yourself and your furry friend in Halloween costumes before heading out on this group dog walk through the Elm Street Green. Treats for humans and dogs will be provided after the hike through the woods.

Beth Wood said:  Celebrate Halloween at Monroe Lake campgrounds all weekend long! There will be different family-friendly events throughout the entire weekend for your holiday fun. Activities include campfires, Halloween crafts, trick-or-treating through the campground, a campground decorating contest, and more!

Beth Wood said:  Celebrate Halloween all weekend long at Mounds State Park's Hoots and Howls event! They plan to have Trick or Treating on Saturday, a camp site decorating contest, hikes, a sack race or cake walk, activities and more.

Beth Wood said:  This is one of my family's favorite Halloween events to attend each year! My kids love to dress up in their costumes and explore Little Haunt on the Prairie at "Ghoul" Creek Park. There's loads to do for all ages including a hayride, a spooky nature trail, games, campfire with roasting marshmallows, live owls, craft stations, Monster Mash dance area, trick-or-treating and great photo ops throughout the event.

Beth Wood said:  Celebrate Halloween by learning how to cook in Indianapolis at Sprouts Cooking School! They have several different classes geared for different age ranges as well as a family cooking class all centered around a Halloween theme.

Beth Wood said:  Washington Township Parks & Rec hosts a Ghosts & Goblins Halloween Party which includes trick or treating, bungee trampolines, a haunted slide, bounce houses and food trucks.

Beth Wood said:  Celebrate Halloween at Boo Bash at the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater! Boo Bash features live music and entertainment, food trucks, games and activities, and more! Come in costume for some great photo opportunities.

Beth Wood said:  The paved trail through the woods comes to life with your child's favorite movie, storybook, and fairy-tale characters! Participate in games and strike a pose at a photo booth while you wait to go on the trail. Join in the active, jumping jack-o-lantern fun!

Dawn Denning said:  The annual Haunted House is a crowd favorite for everyone in our family! You’ll have the once-in-a-nightmare chance to explore the town where Halloween villains live during their “offseason.” There will be mad scientists, witches, zombies, werewolves, and more. If your kiddos might be a little scared, visit the Lights-On hours. If your kiddo likes a little fright, check out the Frightening Hours.

Dawn Denning said:  Our family LOVES this fall event! Conner Prairie is not only home to one of the best corn mazes around Indianapolis, but this annual event also includes magicians, games, music and more. Take a daylight or night time hayride through a scary forest while being chased by the Headless Horseman! Great food, lots of laughs and a haunting great time for everyone!

Beth Wood said:  Enjoy a whole day of fun, starting with the Pumpkins in the Park 5K run/walk and 1-mile family walk followed by food vendors and activities all day long. In the evening, kids can go trick-or-treating downtown!

Beth Wood said:  This "hauntingly-friendly" event is perfect for your pre-school and elementary school-aged children. The event features a daily costume contest, character meet and greets, an inflatable obstacle course, a live DJ, an Enchanted Train Ride and much more!

Beth Wood said:  Plan a visit to the Eiteljorg Museum in downtown Indianapolis to celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) with this fun and colorful celebration. Learn the history behind the holiday, watch performances, meet artists and watch demonstrations, explore artwork, support local artists and create art.

Beth Wood said:  Bring the whole family to enjoy the Historic Irvington Halloween Festival's Slightly Haunted Puppet Show performed by Peewinkle's Puppet Studio. The Halloween program features beautiful hand-crafted and costumed marionettes performing in full view of the audience. The cast includes dancing ghosts and skeletons, a juggling scarecrow, and Esmerelda the witch, while Dracula welcomes visitors from a second story ghost house. This is an all-ages, family-friendly event and seats fill up fast so arrive early to get a good seat for your little ones!

Beth Wood said:  Runners or walkers may choose a 5k or 2k race, both of which are timed. Strollers are welcome on either course.

Beth Wood said:  Enjoy a round trip from Connersville's Grand Central Station to the Pumpkin Patch. Your train ticket includes round trip train service, a hay ride to and from the patch, and a pumpkin for each child 12 and under.

Beth Wood said:  Head over to Garfield Park Conservatory for a ghoulish good time at their Halloween celebration. Get spooked as you walk through the Haunted Conservatory, complete with scary music, decorations and ghouls! Dress up in your favorite costume for added fun! The early portion of the event is designed to be less scary, so plan accordingly if you have little ones.

Beth Wood said:  Man's best friend should have fun celebrating Halloween too! Bring your fur-baby dressed up in their Halloween Costume to "hunt" for Halloween treats at Broad Ripple Park.

Beth Wood said:  Dress up in your favorite family Halloween costumes and head to the Indianapolis Zoo for their annual Zoo Boo! Explore the zoo where the animals will be out enjoying the fall weather. The zoo will have all of the usual family-friendly activities and exhibits open during Zoo Boo along with some special Halloween-themed events like the Round-Go-Merry and Spook-Track-Ular Train Ride. Be sure to bring a goody bag for the Trick or Treat Trail.

Beth Wood said:  Celebrate Halloween at the Shelbyville Parks & Recreation Halloween Fun at the Park. There will be pony rides, games, a haunted trail and bridge, a pumpkin patch and trunk or treat. Dress in your favorite costume for an extra fun time!
