Dr. Bronner's Sal Suds
Kelly R.: I love using Dr. Bronner's castile soap for multiple things in my house, but their Sal Suds product is specifically formulated for cleaning. It can be used for anything: laundry care, carpets, countertops, toilets, dishes, cars, etc. Diluted in a spray bottle, it makes a great all purpose cleaning spray. My gallon-sized bottle of Sal Suds has lasted me for years.
It is biodegradable, and is made with plant-based surfactants and fir needle and spruce essential oils. Plus, it is certified vegan and never tested on animals. No synthetic dyes, fragrances, or preservatives.
Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap
Kelly R.: Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap is about as natural as it gets, and you can use it in a variety of DIY cleaning solutions all around the house. The whole family can use it for personal care, too. Try it as body wash, or as a wonderful nontoxic (and inexpensive) hand soap mixed with water in a foaming dispenser. We even washed our dog with it! It comes in a variety of scents. The baby unscented version contains no fragrance, and extra olive oil that makes it great for baby care or anyone with sensitive skin.
E-Cloth Starter Pack
Hannah Scott: I've been using E-cloths successfully for a couple years now, and love the peace of mind that comes from chemical-free cleaning! The microfiber traps germs and bacteria using just water, with no transfer. I let my toddler help me use these to clean with a spray bottle, and he LOVES it!
Babyganics Toy & Highchair Cleaner
Alexandra F.: A great baby safe cleaning product that can be used on almost any surface. It is plant based and does not contain any harsh chemicals, fragrances or dyes. Just spray and wipe away, no need to rinse after cleaning.
Seventh Generation Disinfecting Multi-Surface Cleaner
Alexandra F.: Thymol is the active ingredient in this botanical-based formula, which disinfects and deodorizes all the surfaces you'll want to clean, from kitchen counters to garbage cans to kids toys. I've been using it for years and love it. I find the scent to be pretty mild (and it does not linger at all), and it does a fabulous job actually getting stuff clean. I also feel much more comfortable using it around my kids since I don't have to worry about rinsing it away. Plus, Target usually carries it at a good price, and even offers occasional promotions.
Method All-Purpose Cleaner
Brigitte Nohra Miller: With two kids running around, as well as a baby and dog at home, we have to keep our surfaces clean and yet chemical free and safe around the furry one. We like to use this all-purpose cleaner from Method. The ingredients are naturally derived. And the scent is really soft and nice. Fight the dirt with the power of plants!
Dapple All Purpose Wipes
Alexandra F.: Made with natural ingredients, these surface wipes were made for moms, by moms, and are safe to use on anything that baby touches, from toys, to high chairs, to changing tables! Check out Dapple’s entire line of baby cleaning products.
Babyganics All Purpose Surface Wipes
Alexandra F.: Convenient wipes that are plant-based and without any harsh chemicals, dyes, or artificial fragrances. Perfect for every day use around the house!
Better Life All-Purpose Cleaner
Kelly R.: Better Life plant-derived cleaners are safe for use around kids and pets, and are up to the task of cleaning just about anything around the house. This all purpose cleaner (available scented or unscented) cleans anything from toys to toilets with no need for rinsing.
