11 Orchards for Apple Picking Near Columbus (MAP)

Kelly R.:  This orchard in Powell offers an assortment of u-pick apple varieties including Pixie Crunch, Sun Crisp, Nova Spy, Pristine, Goldrush, and more.

Katie G.:  Kids can bounce on the jump pillow, race down the zipline, ride on the Moo Moo Express train, glide down the hill slides or play in the straw and corn boxes. Stop by the cafe for a hot dog or pulled pork sandwich or enjoy a seasonal pumpkin donut and hot cider. The farm has pumpkins for purchase and a wide variety of u-pick apples.

Brigitte Nohra Miller:  Lynd Farm offers u-pick apples and pumpkins, and a corn maze that's a must-do fall family activity! Every year the corn maze adopts a new theme. They also have a wagon ride and a barrel train.

Brigitte Nohra Miller:  Charlie's Apples uses natural growing practices. Several varieties of October apples are available, including Scarlet O'Hara, Crimson Crisp, Enterprise, Romeo/Juliet, and GoldRush.

Pick your own apple offerings begin with early-season apples in July, and the rest of the season includes other varieties like Braeburn, Granny Smith, and Winesap. You are sure to find your favorite apple here! Full Fruit Acres also offers pre-picked apples and pears.

Brigitte Nohra Miller:  This family-run orchard grows 26 varieties of apples. The farm offers several attractions for kids including friendly farm animals! They hold an annual Applefest each September featuring pony rides, a wonderful petting farm, a corn bin play area, train rides, pumpkin painting, a hay maze and many more activities to keep your family entertained all day long!

Katie G.:  Legend Hills Orchard offers locally grown apples, cider and seasonal favorites in their Country Store. Head out into the orchard to pick your own apples, or choose a bag of already picked to take home and enjoy. While apple picking is a limited season in the later summer to early fall, stop by the orchard year round to enjoy baked goods, cheeses, jerkey, cooking supplies and more.

Katie G.:  Branstool Orchards grows more than 40 apple varieties on about 12 acres. Choose from traditional favorites and unique varieties good for eating or baking. Be sure to pick up a jug of the fresh homemade cider or delicious caramel apples after picking.

Take a peek at their bees through the observation bee hive! Both of their farms are active, but their large retail operation is housed at their Mansfield location.
